Change is hard. Many of the people who need help are reluctant to change due to negative experiences with being told what to do and not being heard. Motivational Interviewing provides an alternative way to interacting with clients. This collaborative, person centered approach is intended to increase internal motivation while exploring and resolving ambivalence. This training will review the principles of Motivational Interviewing and the stages of change while also providing practical strategies for promoting movement in the stages of change. 3 CEU’s will be provided.
