Bird Ecology and Identification Workshop Series

Bird Ecology and Identification

Join instructor Kori York to learn about the Birds of The Pacific Northwest and how to find them. She will introduce basic identification skills, show you how to create a bird journal, and teach you to use habitat to find and identify birds. Both workshop dates will include a two hour presentation and a one hour bird watching walk around Columbia Springs.

This workshop is designed for beginning birders ages 12 and older. Younger children are welcome but please be avised that the content is not designed for younger children.

Please bring a Bird ID book and a pair of binoculars if you have them. We will have some available for those who don't bring any. Wear comforrable walking shoes and come prepared for the weather; part of this workshop will take place outside.

When: Saturday, March 14th and March 28th, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Columbia Springs: Swift Classroom, 12208 SE Evergreen Hwy, Vancouver, WA 98683
You can park in our main parking lot and head toward the hatchery buildings. A map will be sent out to registered participants to show how to get to Swift Classroom.
Cost: There is a $5 per person suggested donation for this class which you can pay with your credit card on this form. 

The fine print:

  • Pre-registration is required for workshops. 
  • There are no refunds.
  • Safety is our top priority. Workshops may be canceled in the event of high winds or lightning storms. 
  • Please be prepared to walk for about one mile on uneven trails.
