Classroom Camps 2020

For students in Grade 6 through Grade 12 attending Metro Nashville Public Schools. 

Morning Sessions:  8:00 AM to 2:30 PM

LOCATION:  Classroom Camps take place inside Rocketown. Students must be signed in and out daily by the parent/guardian inside Rocketown. Following all social distancing ettiquettes, Rocketown staff and volunteers will provide supervision and homework help while students attend virtual school classes. High speed internet, printer and a copier are available for student's use. 

CHECK IN begins at 7:30am and concludes at 8:00am. All students must be signed in by an adult. Parents and students must be masked during check in. Temperatures will be taken and health screening screening questions will be asked upon arrival.

CHECK OUT is 2:15pm - 2:45pm for morning Classroom Camp. All students must be signed out by their parent or legal guardian unless other arrangements are made 24 hours in advance. 

FREE LUNCH: Free lunches do not take into account dietary restrictions and food allergies.  If your student has dietary restrictions or food allergies, send a sack lunch. Water is provided throughout the day.  Bring a snack or drink if you’d like to have one!

COVID-19 ETTIQUETES: Masks are required inside Rocketown. Daily temperature checks will help ensure that no sick students or staff are admitted. Students will be placed in groups of 10 or less and remain with that group the entire morning. Students may request to be with friends. Private tutors are welcome to accompany students.

REGISTRATION: ONE APPLICATION PER STUDENT: You will receive an email confirmation as proof of your advanced registration. A copy of this must be presented the first day of each week your student is enrolled. FOR SCHEDULING PURPOSES, YOUR STUDENT MUST BE REGISTERED BY WEDNESDAY BEFORE THE SESSION BEGINS. WALK-INS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

COST: Free for students grade 6 through grade 12. 

NOT INCLUDED: Transportation to and from camp is solely the responsibility of the parents/guardians.

WHAT TO BRING: Bring a backpack with your computer, headphones, charging cords, waterbottle, school schedule, list of all assignments to be completed and school supplies. Each individual is responsible for his or her own belongings. Bring a snack if you would like to have one! 

GET HER 30 MINUTES EARLY: Leave plenty of time for your student to settle in, log on and get started.

LOGIN INFORMATION: Make sure your student has the right login information for each platform they will use throughout the day.

CHARGE UP! Rocketown is not responsible if your student is late to class because of a low laptop battery. We will provide power strips when space allows. 

WE'RE HERE TO HELP, BUT WE'RE NOT TEACHERS: Rocketown is happy to provide a quiet, dedicated space for your student to attend their virtual classroom. We are available for homework help. But we leave the teaching to the experts -- the teachers.

ABSENCE: Because space is extremely limited, absence without prior notifiation on two occations will result in dismissal from the program.

Evidence has shown that COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life threatening illness and even death. Rocketown of Middle Tennessee cannot prevent you or your child(ren) from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while utilizing Rocketown’s services or premises. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to utilize Rocketown’s services and/or enter onto Rocketown’s premises you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.
