Join archivist Heather Sonntag for an overview of Richard Steinheimer’s photography across legendary Donner Pass. Focusing on the color slides in this extensive Donner series, Heather highlights a mix of iconic Southern Pacific photos – snow fighting, shed reconstruction, and the closure of SP’s Norden complex – with previously unseen images that reflect Stein’s fearlessness, friendliness, and good fortune to document this historic Sierra crossing.
