2024 Homeownership Education Course Application
THISTL is collaborating with non-profit partners to offer a Homeownership Education course tailored specifically for trans and gender-expansive humans. Learn about the home purchasing process, as well as important information about household budgeting, upkeep, and affordability. This course may also qualify you for down payment assistance based on eligibility rules and current availability. THISTL will cover the cost of the course, materials, and 1:1 virtual post-sessions with a certified HUD housing counselor.
The in-person course will occur on a Saturday July 20th and last approx. 8 hours. Course location is TBD and will be shared with selected participants. Lunch is provided. THISTL will provide a $120 stipend upon course completion. Spaces are limited and selections will be made on a rolling basis.
The virtual cohort launches on the first day of the selected month. Courses will be offered for April or October. Participants will have one month to complete the self-paced curriculum (4-6 hours). Additional content will be delivered via live web-conference (1 hour) at the end of the month. Participants will be eligible to receive a $100 stipend once they have completed the online curriculum and attended the live wrap-up.
