#A136 Introduction to Stained Glass
Instructor: Greta Hanesworth
For Adults (teens over 14 will be considered)
4 sessions starting April 30, May 7, 14, 21
About this Class:
Greta has years of experience teaching stained glass and we couldn’t be prouder to have her with us again this Spring! Participants will create their own simple stained glass project. Greta will instruct students on the basic techniques needed as well as other tricks of the trade. This series is great for people with no experience, or for folks with a little background, looking to practice their skills.
Participants will learn the Tiffany method of stained glass construction as they make a panel about 9” by 11” with design and color of their choice. Folks who miss a class can reschedule after the classes are over for a small fee of $20. All materials will be provided by the Dairy Barn and the Artists. Safety glasses will be provided but if participants have a pair of safety glasses they are fond of, they are welcome to bring them. Participants should dress comfortably and avoid flowing or overly loose clothing as they will be working with soldering irons and other potentially catching materials.
The Dairy Barn Arts Center does not issue refunds for classes and workshops unless said class or workshop is cancelled by the Dairy Barn. If a class or workshop is cancelled by the Dairy Barn, you may either request a refund, or have your payment credited to future events such as classes, workshops, or camps. Winter Weather note: If The Athens County Sheriff declares a level 3 snow emergency that hasn't lifted before noon, classes and workshops at the Dairy Barn that day may be cancelled. If classes are cancelled, we will post to facebook and attempt to reach participants via email or phone. However, If the weather is bad, we advise participants to call ahead and confirm that the Barn is open.
