Call for Joy - Artist Application

If you're like most artists in the United States, COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on your livelihood. The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is here to help.

Your skills are valuable, and your community needs you right now. We want to pay you to make art that will spread joy throughout our region during these stressful times.

As long as...

  • you are a working artist living in Pierce, King, or Snohomish County,
  • your creation will spread joy, and
  • your creation can be accessed by our socially-distancing community

...we want to pay you to create.

How Does This Work?

Fill out the application below. We're trying to fund as many artists as possible, and will be accepting applications on a rolling basis.

If your project is approved, we'll send you an email with a blank W9 tax form and a fee-for-service contract for you to complete and return to us. You'll have 90 days to complete your creation, after which you'll get a check in the mail with your award funds. Art created for Call for Joy will be licensed through the Creative Commons so that everyone can enjoy it.

With your permission, we'd love to promote your work as well - we'll be using the hashtag #callforjoy, and we'll link to your website or social media presence.

We can't wait to see what you create!
