Make It Werq Application

Queer Trans Workers' Rights Trainer Application

LGBTQ Allyship invites you to empower your peers around their rights as queer, gender non-conforming and transgender low-wage workers in Seattle. 15 amazing justice-seeking trans and queer people will engage in (2) train-the-trainer workshops in April 2017 so apply today!

Training Dates: April 25th – 6pm to 9pm & May 3rd – 6:15 pm to 9pm at South Park Senior Center. These (2) workshops will prepare you to facilitate one of our four community-wide trans and queer workers' rights trainings starting in July 2017, as well as participate in our monthly Make It Werq (MIW) educator gatherings.

MIW educators will lead (4) Allyship Workers' Rights workshops focused on specific workers in the LGBTQ community. MIW peer educators will reflect the communities they are training. We will train 4 unique LGBTQ communities:

-       LGBTQ low-income/working class women (both trans and cis) workers

-       LGBTQ POC workers

-       LGBTQ Homeless Youth workers

-       Trans and Gender Non-conforming workers

We will also have monthly discussions at our MIW gatherings. A few examples of possible topics:

-       Supporting Undocumented and/or LGBTQ immigrant workers

-       Support Sex Workers Who are Not Covered by Current Labor Standards

-       The Intersection of Labor, Gender and Disability Justice
