Global Connections: Understanding the Ethiopia-Tigray Crisis

Join us to learn about the crisis that has been unfolding since November 2020 in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. Susan Stigant, Director for Africa programs at the United States Institute of Peace will provide a broad overview what the conflict is about, followed by a panel of Ethiopian community leaders discussing their personal experiences.

Our purpose is to explore the political history of Ethiopia, the surrounding horn of Africa region, and the ongoing humanitarian situation involving the Tigray region in Ethiopia. We would like to highlight how the current humanitarian situation has impacted the diverse Ethiopian community in Louisville.
