An Introduction to Jealousy and Polyamory with Niki Davis

Join us as we welcome Niki Davis for An Introduction to Jealousy and Polyamory on Thursday, December 17 at 7:00 PM EST over Zoom!

With the ever-changing dating scene, the types of relationships that individuals choose to engage in have become increasingly more diverse. People are engaging in sex without romance, romance without sex, romance and sex with more than one partner – the list goes on. Considering a non-traditional relationship style in a world that is still primarily monogamous can be complex. How do you share with potential new partners where you are at? How do you decide which relationship style is right for you? How do you communicate when intense emotions arise?

Through this workshop, participants will learn about the different types of non-monogamy relationships, specific tools to manage jealousy in open relationships, as well as how to discuss opening up your relationship with a partner.

Participant Consent + Disclaimer

The CSPH envisions a world where pleasure is viewed as an integral part of health and where adults can talk about sexuality while feeling comfortable and supported. To that end, we ask that all workshop participants adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a safe space for all to participate:

  • Confidentiality: The CSPH and the educators and facilitators we work with are professionally obligated to maintain confidentiality, however other participants in this workshop are not. We ask that everyone honor the privacy and confidentiality of those who choose to share, and that those who choose to share be mindful of what personal information is shared within the space.

We like to encourage a model of “What’s Shared Here Stays Here, What’s Learned Here Leaves Here” to help increase and amplify access to information and education while keeping the personal anecdotes people share private.

  • Recording + Screenshots: Recording of the workshop is strictly prohibited. This includes screenshots, video-captures, and/or audio-recordings of any type. NOTE: There may be instances where a workshop is recorded by either The CSPH or the educator facilitating the workshop. In such instances, this will only be done with the full knowledge and consent of anyone involved, and intent for usage of the content will be disclosed.

  • Participant video: Participants of all genders must be fully clothed if their camera is on. Additionally, out of respect for those who may be in recovery, or other personal experiences, we ask that any blatant alcohol or drug consumption be done off-camera.

  • Participant audio: Please keep yourself muted at all times, unless otherwise prompted by the facilitator, to prevent accidental interruptions.

  • Participant chat: We want participants to have fun during the workshop, and encourage interaction through the chat! In this space participants can ask questions and share relevant anecdotes and commentary. This space is not for unsolicited chatting or flirting with other participants, or for advertising, sales, or other forms of self-promotion.

  • Participant language + behavior: Be respectful to the educator and other workshop participants by conducting your behavior in a way that is aligned with The CSPH’s organizational values. Specifically, racism, misogyny, ableism, ageism, transphobia, and other forms of discrimination and oppression are not conducive to a positive learning environment and will not be tolerated.

Additionally, the sharing of COVID-19 denialism, anti-masking, Q-Anon, and related ideologies - such as those that promote white supremacy, dis-/misinformation, neo-fascism, conspiracy theories, etc. - that do not align with The CSPH’s organizational, health-first values will result in the participant being removed from the workshop. These ideologies have been identified as harmful by public health researchers.

The CSPH adheres to a zero-tolerance policy, and anyone violating this policy will be removed from the workshop without a refund.
  • Don’t be a jackass by jacking-off: We whole-heartedly support masturbation, self pleasure, sex play with partners, and other forms of consensual sexual behavior, however, please reserve engaging in such activities for times outside of the workshop.

  • Take care of yourself: If you need to take a break, step away, or access support - please do so. If you would like to flag something about the workshop, please do not hesitate to reach out to learn@thecsph.org with your questions or concerns. Anything you flag will be kept anonymous, unless otherwise discussed.

Violation of these rules will, at minimum, result in receiving a warning from the educator or another representative of The CSPH, and at maximum, will result in you being removed from the workshop without a refund and banned from participating in any future workshops and events organized by The CSPH.
