For Adults and Teens 16 and older
All students interested in advancing their painting skills regardless of whatever skill level they believe they currently have, are welcome. Beginners and more experienced painters will both benefit from class exercises and in class personal instruction designed to build confidence in their individual choices while gaining a solid understanding of painting fundamentals. Using still life set-ups, each of the 8 classes cover step by step the essential elements found in successful paintings including but not limited to: how color and value work together to build form and how composition, perspective and scale combine for the best results. Addressed early in the course will be proper care and maintenance of painting tools, whether a student uses traditional slow drying oil paints or the newer fast drying acrylic paints with their very different properties.

The Dairy Barn Arts Center does not typically issue refunds for classes and workshops unless said class or workshop is canceled by the Dairy Barn. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however, if a participant becomes ill with COVID-19, the Dairy Barn will refund the total amount if they have not begun the class, or a pro-rated amount to reflect the number of sessions the participants has attended. If a class or workshop is cancelled by the Dairy Barn, participants may either request a refund, or have your payment credited to future events such as classes, workshops, or camps.
