Vermont Winemakers Workshop Registration

Vermont Winemakers Workshop
Friday, December 1st, 2:00 - 5:00 pm
The Residence at Quarry Hill, South Burlington
Registration Required - Please Register by Wednesday, Nov. 29th

Chris Gerling of Cornell Extension will be leading a workshop for winemakers on how to set up systems of peer-to-peer sensory evaluation for their wines. He will be joined by Peter Bell of Fox Run Vineyards and Dave Breeden of Sheldrake Point Winery.

This workshop will address not only systems for evaluating wine, but the structure that has worked in New York for hosting useful, constructive evaluation sessions between winemaking colleagues. We will be tasting wine from Vermont attendees for evaluations during the workshop (see details below).

This workshop is hosted by the Vermont Fresh Network and Vermont Grape & Wine Council using a Specialty Crop Block Grant.

The fees to participate are:
  • Grape & Wine Council and Vermont Fresh Network Members: $15 for the first person from your winery; $5 for each additional staff.
  • Grape & Wine Council/Vermont Fresh Network Non-Members: $20

Would you like to submit wine(s) for evaluation?

We are focusing on wines made with Vermont grown grapes (75% or more) - exactly what wines we taste will be based on how many people participate and how many wines they would like to bring. Please let us know the top 1 to 3 wines you would like to put on the table and we will follow up with a confirmation of which we have room for. You do not have to bring a wine to participate.
