Legislative Roundup

Description

Legislative Roundup

The Georgia General Assembly wrapped up it’s 2-year session in April. Science was present in some bills and absent in others.

We need your input, as members of the science and friend-of-science community, on what was good, and what was bad, and what was missing.

Science for Georgia invites our partners and member community to participate in our Legislative Roundup. We will go over the 21-22 session and then spend a majority of the time in breakout rooms working to understand your thoughts and opinions.

The goal of this Roundup is to understand what our community and partners care about and how they would like to be involved! We want to walk away from this meeting with 3 concrete things that the S&T community believes will have a positive impact on Georgia’s future. These things will be used to inform our goals for 2023 and subjects to address in a speaker series, conference, or roundtable.

Later on, we will host a “how to advocate effectively” and “our goals for 2023-24” – to provide concrete things to act on and methods for you to be involved.

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we will not be endorsing any candidates in the election, and we will not be endorsing specific bills. We will be advocating for evidence-based solutions.

When you sign up for this event, please provide any questions or comments you have and would like to see addressed.
