Volunteer Descriptions (Examples)

One Time/ On call:
Join our contact list for one time opportunities that come up throughout the year. These can include but are not limited to: Helping out at Kid's Night Out at our elementary sites, assisting in running our booth at SummerFEST alongside CIS Staff, collect school supplies at the fair grounds as people enter the fair, help our Office Manager with yearling stuffing of mailing envelopes.

Tutoring:
You can help students with their homework alongside their teachers. CPHS has extended learning on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30p-4:30p. Lochburn has Homework & Academic Success Club on Thursdays from 3:15p-4:30p.

Mentoring:
Get matched with a student who you will meet with once a week for 30 minutes to an hour. This is on-going throughout the year and can be continued as the student advances grade levels. Training will be provided and is required to attend before meeting with your mentee.

Job Shadows:
CPHS requires all students to attend a job shadow in order to graduate. This is open to Juniors and Seniors. If you want to host a job shadow, you must fill out the application as normal, and attend an interest session where you will get debriefed on the requirements the student needs to complete.

Lunch Pals/Small Groups:
Enjoy having lunch with a student or facilitating activities during small groups. Most Small Groups and Lunches are 30 minutes and you can meet once a week with your lunch pal. There will be a training you will have to attend before meeting your lunch pal.
