2024 Nonprofit Board Matching and Placement Assistance Services Application

Thank you for applying to the Diversity Coalition SLO County's Board Matching and Placement Assistance Services

Our program aims to provide training to BIPOC professionals to be a good, effective board leader and create a pipeline of board ready candidates trained in board governance; as well as to facilitate board matching and placement assistance* for nonprofits recruiting to diversity their boards.

Application Overview

DCSLOC strives to help support your organization to strengthen and diversify its board by referring BIPOC professionals who have completed our immersive experience Board Leadership Training Program. 

Your responses to the following questions will help us develop a custom board recruitment profile. We will share your profile with our graduates seeking board placement assistance.

  • There is a one-time non-refundable placement assistance application fee of $150.
  • Directors and Officers Liability (D&O) Insurance is required by applying organization or its Fiscal Sponsor.

*Diversity Coalition San Luis Obispo County does not guarantee board placement. We make every effort for successful matches based on various interest areas.

Board Matching & Placement Assistance Services

  • We use the provided information to match potential board members based on mutual compatibilities such as program interest, professional skills, and experience.
  • DCSLOC will refer qualified board trained BIPOC professionals.
  • Upon confirmed interest in a match, introductions are made between the organization and our graduates.
  • DCSLOC markets and promotes your organization and its board opportunity to BIPOC professionals in our network.
  • Invitation to private board matching mixers. 

Overview of Program Focus, Interest, and Experience/Skills

The next sections are important. Your selections will help determine the type how organizations and DCSLOC graduates are matched.

Program Focus is the organization's mission and core programming. For example, if the mission is to serve minors who have been placed into a ward, group home, or private home of a state-certified caregiver, the selection may be Foster Care Services. You may select five (5).

Skills & Experience are what a board considers when looking to add a potential board member to its board. You may select five (5).
