Classes begin Tuesday, September 4rd and run through Thursday, April 18.

Classes will meet once weekly for one hour at the following locations:

  • Veterans Day - Monday, November 12
  • Thanksgiving - Wednesday, November 21 - Friday, November 23
  • Winter Break - Monday, December 24 - Friday, January 4
  • MLK Day - Monday, January 21
Tuition and Discounts
  • 1 hr/week: $40/month
  • 2 hr/week: $65/month
  • 3 hr/week: $85/month
  • Unlimited Classes: $100/month

Siblings receive 25% off tuition. Apprentices receive a 50% discount.

Performances and Productions

Classes will culminate each semester with a Conservatory Showcase, a recital-style event showcasing the knowledge and skills students have gained throughout the year.

Students must be enrolled in a Parkway Playhouse JR Conservatory class and be between teh ages of 10-18 to opt to audition for Fall and Spring Junior productions. There will be no cost to participate in Junior Productions, however they will be audition-only and limited to a select number of students showing dedication and growth in their Conservatory Classes. 

The fall production of Mary Poppins JR will be traveling to the 2019 Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA.

A $50.00 non-refundable registration fee goes toward administrative costs.

If a student drops a class after the start of the month, no refund will be given for that month.

If there is insufficient enrollment, a class may be canceled at the sole descretion of Parkway Playhouse. Tuition recieved for classes canceled by Parkway Playhouse will be refunded in full.

Discounts are available for multiple children/siblings and active members of the High School Apprentice Program.

Conservatory Class Descriptions
  • Creative Drama (grades k - 2nd)
    Designed for our youngest actors, students will focus on story drama activities, expressive movement, beginning character development, ensemble building, pantomime and improvisation, prop/costume making, and much more!

 

  • Playmakers (grades 3 - 6)
    Building on the foundation of voice, movement, character development, and storytelling, students will begin learning specific styles in acting. They will prepare and perform comedic and dramatic scenes, developing character monologues, and scoring scripts.

 

  • Stagemasters (grades 7 - 12)
    This advanced theatre class will explore methods and styles of acting. Students will engage in both contemporary and classical texts through prepping and performing scenes and monologues. Preparing audition pieces for auditions will be a focus as well.

 

  • Improv for Teens (grades 8 - 12)
    This course will train student to be "in the moment" and spontaneous in the responses as it relates to improvisation. This course is prerequisite to be selected for Parkway's invitation only improv troupe, Get the Hook.

 

  • Broadway Bound (grades 3 - 6 | grades 7 - 12)
    For the Broadway hopefuls, this class focuses solely on the art of musical theatre. Classes alternate each week between learning music and vocal coaching to learning dance basics and choreography.

Parent/Guardian Agreements

I will complete the separate health form for my student and turn in OR, I already have a health form on file with Parkway Playhouse and there have been no changes in my child's health, in our insurance, etc. You can download the health form by visiting the Conservatory Tab on our website.

Payment is due monthly at the office or by phone. Payments cannot be collected by the teachers under any circumstances.Tuition is divided into 8 equal payments, from September to April. Some months have as few as two weeks of classes others have as many as five. Payments are based on an average of 3.6 classes/month. Payments are due by the 7th of each month. Any account unpaid after the 8th of the month will have late charges assessed for 10% of the total monthly tuition. Late payments will not be accepted without the added late fee. Any accounts past due by thirty days (the 7th of the following month) will be contacted via email. Families who fail to pay their tuition will forfeit their participation in Parkway Junior classes or productions until their accounts are paid in full.

I further understand that the inherent risk of injury cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injury. I agree to assume that risk in order for child to participate in these activities. The undersigned acknowledges that the participant is in good health and does not have any history or a medical or physical condition that would place the participant at risk due to the participant's medical or physical condition. I do hereby release and forever discharge Parkway Playhouse, their predecessors and successors, employees, agents and assigns, and all other persons, corporations, and entities from all claims, expenses, attorney fees, and causes of action or suits of any kind or nature associated with the participant's involvement with the Parkway Playhouse by signing below, I acknowledge that I have given my approval and acknowledge my responsibilities for the above items for which I have clicked "I agree".
