Reader Series: Quintessential Ghost Stories

Reader series classes cover three books in a short period of time, taking you on a deep dive into specific topic or author to gain a more advanced understanding of literature and the world. Experienced instructors will provide history, context, and analysis, and guide in-depth discussion that will help make you an instant expert in a single subject or author’s body of work.

Each participant can decide how they choose to engage with the classes. You can read all three books ahead of time, read them as the class progresses, or read them after the class has concluded. No matter your level of prior knowledge, you will receive a wealth of materials and insights in a condensed period, like a masterclass or a great course, only right here in Cleveland.

In this Reader Series class, renowned local author D.M. Pulley will usher you into the genre world of ghost stories. In addition to discussing how these mysteries and thrillers conjure their magic, she will share how these three books helped her complete her most recent book. It is titled No One's Home, and is set in a recently renovated century home, where the facade of the house and the facade of the family who owns it both start to crumble. Cleveland author Mary Doria Russell has called: No One's Home “HGTV meets Stephen King—creepy, spooky fun!” What better way to prepare for Halloween!

Quintessential Ghost Stories takes place Wednesdays 10/9, 10/23, & 11/6 from 6:30-8:30pm at Loganberry Books (13015 Larchmere Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44120).
