CHF Staged Reading 2023 - What Makes Us Well

As part of the 2023 Cleveland Humanities Festival, Literary Cleveland is presenting What Makes Us Well, a free staged reading of original creative works on the topic of wellness.

The words in this reading have been crafted by 18 local writers and will be performed by professional actors under the direction of poet, playwright, and former Literary Cleveland Executive Director Christine Howey. The readings feature poems, essays, and short dramatic pieces on birds and baseball, screen fatigue and doom scrolling, prayer and chronic pain, white wine and East Palestine, milkshake cults and long COVID. Individually, the unique voices bring to life humor and horror, love and loss, the past and the future. Together they help us consider what makes us well.

Join us Saturday, April 8 at 4 PM, at CSU Mather Mansion, 2605 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115.

This program is sponsored by the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities.
