Class Five: Puget Sound Lowland Forests with guest expert Derek Churchill

Description: Immerse yourself in the diversity of lowland Puget Sound forests on a driving tour through Vashon Island. Begin the day at Dockton Natural Area for a hike through some of the most intact madrone forests in Washington State. Drive to Island Center Forest, a classic second-growth Douglas fir habitat, and end at Shinglemill Creek to compare ecosystems as you learn about the diversity of flora and fauna in each habitat.

Most classes last 2-3 hours, except for the six-hour forest driving tour in June. Class size is limited to 15 participants. Children aged 10 and over may register if accompanied by a participating adult.
Tuition: $60.00/class + $10.00 materials fee ($100.00 for the June class)
