Commercial Videography and Photography Permit Application

Please note that the cost of a film permit is $500 per day, and the cost of a photography permit is $150 per day. There is an additional fee of $100 per hour beyond normal operating hours for beach and nature trails (8 a.m. - sunset) and the Guana Dam area (4 a.m. - 9 p.m.).

General Policies and Procedures

Guidelines for Commercials, T.V. Productions / Motion Pictures, and all other media filming (applies to still photography when applicable). Commercial, T.V., and Motion Picture companies that are sanctioned by the Governor’s Office of Film and Entertainment will be allowed to film on Reserve property subject to the following restrictions:

Permits for Commercials, T.V. productions / Motion Pictures, and all other media filming will be authorized by a representative of the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTM Research Reserve).

Fees for Commercials, T.V. productions / Motion Pictures, and all other media filming as listed on the Commercial Photography Permit Application will be charged.

Florida Administrative Code 5I-4.003 // 2016 - This state code prohibits drones on managed lands, including Florida state parks and forests, except at a runway or a helispot and only with authorization from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The authorization shall be based upon a determination that the takeoff or landing will not endanger the health, safety or welfare of any person; potentially damage the forest resources, or interfere with the management objectives of that forest as provided in that forest’s management plan. Authorization from the Service is not required in an emergency or for Service official business.

A Certificate of Insurance must be provided.

The GTM Research Reserve will be reimbursed for any expenses it incurs above normal coordination and monitoring of activities.

The Permittee will ensure that all of the Reserve’s resources and facilities remain in their pre-permit condition throughout the filming process. The Reserve will be reimbursed for the cost of any repairs it incurs resulting from damage to facilities or resources caused by the filming activities.

Reserve resources or facilities will not be altered in any way which would change established resource management schedules or practices, cause permanent damage, shorten the useful life or reduce the effectiveness or quality of such resources or facilities.

Adequate safeguards will be implemented to ensure that all animals or plants brought into the Reserve for filming are removed from the park at the conclusion of the permit period.

No walking on or across the dunes. Boardwalks should be utilized to access the beach.

No pruning, cutting, or breaking of vegetation is permitted.

No digging, scraping, or other disturbances to the soil is permitted.

Park only in designated parking lots. Parking on the grass or side of the road is prohibited.

When filming requires the exclusion of Reserve visitors from a Reserve use area, the filming time must be approved by the GTM Representative, with the duration being kept to an absolute minimum.

Security of the set of filming locations will be the responsibility of the Permittee.
