One moment please...

Welcome to the Water Justice Leadership Program!

Aug 9-13 (Monday-Friday), 1-5pm

Held at Seahurst Park in Burien

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Join Y-WE and Sea Potential for a week-long interactive  learning experience focused on water! Participants will learn about environmental justice, policy, and civic engagement, and deepen their connection with the ocean through tidepooling, art-making, beach cleanup, and more. As a final project the group will decide on recommendations to make to King County’s Clean Water Plan. Public feedback on this plan will help to guide billions of dollars spent by the County over the next 50 years that will impact the health of waterways, ecosystems, and people in the greater Seattle area. We will center water justice in crafting our individual and collective recommendations, considering things like racial and socioeconomic equity, climate change, and more. Participants who attend all five days of the program will receive a $300 stipend for their work in creating the recommendations.
