GPMCT was formed 30 years ago in response to the potential divestment and subdivision of land near Great Pond Mountain. This year, the Trust celebrates its thirtieth anniversary as a vibrant organization that has protected the land and expanded the Wildlands. Conserved and well-managed land offers wildlife habitat, economic benefits, and opportunities for activities like hiking and fishing.
Our work continues as we strive to protect Maine's forestland, combat climate change, and support the state's economy and traditions. This year, we have planned various projects and investments, including bridge replacements, trail expansions, and timber stand improvements. Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 10, as we prepare to celebrate our anniversary alongside the Maine Tree Farmer of the Year recognition. Thank you for your ongoing support in keeping the Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust great!
