Please be a part of our annual social justice art project to help raise awareness for our annual storytelling fundraiser on Friday, May 7th.
This year's project will be like none other, because this year is like none other. To elevate the voices and experiences of our students and families in this pandemic, we are launching the "Empty Screens" project.
Our students are struggling. They are hurting. And their school absences and experiences must be captured, because although virtual school is temporary for most of us, many SAC youth have been FORCED into virtual settings for many, many years.
So what will be the final product of this multi-media art project? So glad you asked!
#1 - All sponsors will be given a multi-media video that includes dance performance, spoken words, video and audio clips from our students and parents, photos of artifacts (like school emails and letters), and more.
#2 - Up to two sponsoring at the $500 level will ALSO receive an original piece of art. This will be a "found" MAC screen and MAC laptop, covered with messages of reflection and hope from our students. The artist family Anna Oginsky (Heart Connected), Sarah Richards (Ananda Wellness) and their mom, Kathleen Hodges, are taking written reflections from our students and creating these one-of-a-kind pieces.
Sponsors commit to showing the video during the two weeks before our big event on May 7 on social media and/or in a physical space (we can work on getting you iPads or whatever if needed).
By sponsoring this unique and powerful project, you will receive:
- 2 free tickets to the storytelling event.
- Shoutout in our eblast before the event.
- One social media shoutout before the event.
- Recognition in our virtual program.
- Recognition on our web site for the year and in our annual report.
For the sponsorship at the $500 level, you will also receive the original art pieces.
