April Artistry Event

Sunday, April 14, 1 pm - 3:30 pm Makerplace
Calling all budding artists!  Create your work of art at this unique event to support the Arlington Heights Memorial Library Foundation.  Each participant will complete an 11 x 14 canvas painted with acrylics.  Local artist Barb Benstein will share her expertise with up to twenty lucky students.  No experience is necessary, and this is ideal for teens and adults.  The cost is $75.00 and includes all materials, instruction, and refreshments.

Barb Benstein lives in Chicagoland and has been doing business in that area for over 27 years. Primarily self-taught, Barb specializes in pastel and oil paintings of people and pets, as well as homes, cars, and landscapes. After working as a graphic artist for ten years, she began painting full-time in 1993. In 2008, she started teaching art to 6 – 8-year-olds at the Mainstreet Art Center in Lake Zurich, IL. “This is the age they need encouragement. It’s satisfying to see these young ‘Rembrandts’ grow as artists.” She now teaches teens and adults in pastels and oil and conducts workshops at the studio.
